Audio – Pardew Hails Palace Character


Manager Alan Pardew was a pleased man at full time in the game against former club Southampton today.

Making the trip to St Mary’s Stadium for the FA Cup third round game, Palace took a justified two one victory with goals coming from Joel Ward and Wilfried Zaha to book Palace’s place in the fourth round of this year’s competition.

With the hosts having more possession and attempts both on and off target in the game, Pardew knew that it was a victory secured by a solid work ethic, a good defensive performance and for him the side had to show plenty of ‘character, grit and determination’ to get through the game with the win he wanted.

Speaking about the tough encounter in his post game media duties, he explained.
