Borussia Dortmund & Everton Join Race For Palace Star

|

With ongoing Wilfried Zaha speculation following the reports that he had turned down Crystal Palace’s bumper new contract offer, yesterday saw the rumour mill jump to a new level and journalists were no longer talking about Tottenham Hotspur.

Borussia Dortmund were on the scene now according to the Sun and they also brought Everton into the equasion.

Dealing with Dortmund first, the main suggestion was that with them about to take money in from the sale of Andriy Yarmolenko and his switch to West Ham United, they would use that money tempt Zaha into a Bundesliga adventure. He’s only said to be moving for £17.5million though and with a speculated price tag of £70million I’m not sure where they would find the cash unless there’s a belief we’ll settle for less to avoid selling him to Spurs?

They loosely reference Everton with Marco Silva apparently having an interest in him and being a long-term admirer but if, as suggested, Zaha wants to test himself at a bigger club after his failed Manchester United switch, with all due respect to Goodison Park they might have aspirations of getting back amongst the top pack in the Premier League, but Spurs are already there and Dortmund’s standing in Germany speaks for itself.

It probably starts the run of speculation linking him with a number of clubs now to be honest but given he has four years left on his deal I’m not sure fans should overly panic.
