Crystal Palace have joined the list of clubs interested in Brighton’s would-be out of contract keeper David Stockdale, according to the Daily Mirror.

Stockdale, once called into the England squad during his Fulham days, is scheduled to play in the Premier League next season, but this might not be at Brighton? With his contract at the Amex Stadium up in the summer he could quit Albion for Palace.

Wayne Hennessy is Sam Allardyce’s current no.1 but the Welsh international has often seen his own Selhurst Park future questioned. Steve Mandanda, currently vying for the backup spot with veteran Julian Speroni, will probably leave Palace in the summer, so another keeper could be needed.

The keeper, who kept 20 clean sheets for Brighton during their promotion winning campaign, has been linked with hometown club Leeds as well as Watford. In fact the Mirror reports Chelsea expressed an interest in Stockdale, 31, in January, which could be revisited if second choice option Asmir Begovic left Stamford Bridge?
