Palace suffered a further setback to our top 10 aspirations following a narrow defeat at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, that win on Sunday confirming them as Premier League Champions.

A controversially awarded penalty, initially saved but the rebound followed up, meant that we went down one-nil in the live lunchtime game on Sky Sports to lose for a third-match running and now drop some five-points away from the top 10.

Speroni, who had something of an erratic first half had a couple of let offs in the first half that didn’t really offer up too much in the way of clear cut chances until Hazard went down ‘theatrically’ in the area.

Following a challenge from McArthur, with Hazard making the most of this challenge from the midfielder, he won Chelsea a penalty in the dying moments of the first half to give them the chance to go into the break one-up.

The recently crowned PFA Player of the Year stepped up only for Speroni to save his penalty but Hazard (45) followed up with the Belgium international heading home his own rebound on the stroke of half time to make it one-nil.

Chelsea did what they had to in seeing out the second half, we gave them a couple of moments of worry when Puncheon went close with an effort that went just wide and ‘keeper Courtois keeping out a Zaha effort but we couldn’t find a way back with Chelsea’s fifth Premier League title, but first title win in five-years, confirmed.
