Palace Skipper Shaun Derry is ready to open talks about committing his long-term future to the club, he told the Croydon Advertiser: “I`m keen to extend my deal if it comes my way – but it`s not for me to talk about,” said Derry, 31.

“I have made my feelings known to the management on where I stand on that. If the opportunity came up in the future I would seriously think about it.

“I`ve got another season left on my contract and I`m more than happy at Palace – it`s a good club and I enjoy playing for them.

“I`ve got a really young family and we are feeling settled for the first time in a number of years. It would be another wrench to leave this place again.’
