Dougie Freedman has said that he wants to keep on loan Anthony Gardner at the club next season.

Gardner has clocked up 18 appearances in the league for the Eagles since joining on loan from Hull, but come the summer he will be out of contract and Freedman has admitted that future contract talks have been placed on hold due to the club focusing on our relegation worries.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser the gaffer said.

‘He’s certainly done himself no harm at all in the terms of extending his long term future here. At the moment the priority is simple – staying in this division, things like contracts have been put to one side.’
