Does Palace’s Travelling Squad To Scandinavia Suggest One Man Is Staying

|

Crystal Palace have now obviously landed out in Scandinavia following our flight out for the pre-season tour of Denmark and Sweden and manager Roy Hodgson has previously confirmed his 26 man squad for the matches we have planned.

The Eagles to fly over were:

Christian Benteke, Scott Dann, Vicente Guaita, Wayne Hennessey, Ryan Inniss, Jaroslaw Jach, Sullay Kaikai, Martin Kelly, Nya Kirby, Jason Lokilo, James McArthur, Jason Puncheon, Jairo Riedewald, Mamadou Sakho, Jeffrey Schlupp, Alexander Sorloth, Pape Souare, Julian Speroni, James Tomkins, Andros Townsend, Patrick van Aanholt, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Joel Ward, Connor Wickham, Jonny Wiliams, Wilfried Zaha.

No great surprises really I’d think in the squad selection and good to see Connor Wickham and Jonny Williams back with the group as well.

However, my attention was with the imagery used – the face of Christian Benteke seemed popular on the squad announcement and with most thinking that he would be off after a very disappointing 2017/18 for us, and speculation certainly being rife that we would look to cash in on him – with him featuring so predominantly, is that an indication Hodgson has other thoughts.

Or simply he was the first image selected and we haven’t yet received a suitable offer?
