Speaking to the press following todays 2-1 loss to league leaders QPR, Dougie Freedman says he has no complaints over the sending off of Paddy McCarthy or the subsequent penalty that was awarded.

Quoted on Sporting Life after the game, the gaffer said of the sending off:

‘It was a turning point in what I thought was a close game. QPR are top of the league, but we gave them a run for their money. We dust ourselves down and go again.’

As for whether the ref got it right or wrong, Dougie added:

‘We’ve no complaints at all, Paddy gave the referee an opportunity to give a penalty and to send him off.’

The Guardian have Freedman adding further:

‘If our fans had seen the replay, they might have kept their bottles of beer and drank them instead of throwing them.’
