Dougie Freedman can expect to have Julian Speroni available for the clash at Turf Moor on Saturday, despite picking up a knock in our 3-3 draw against Reading.

Speaking to News Shopper the gaffer explained that Speroni ended the game struggling with a groin problem, but after a bit of rest and recovery, the medical staff are confident he won’t have to miss our next match.

‘It’s nothing serious, he was struggling and is going to be taking it easy this week but I’m pretty sure he’ll going to be fine.’

If Speroni does run into difficulty as the game edges closer, Freedman has no concerns over whether Lewis Price would prove himself to be a safe pair of hands in what would be his debut since joining the club in the summer.

‘Lewis trains hard and he keeps putting in good performances for the reserves, so I’ve got no problem with putting him in and he knows that.’
