After previously saying Brighton striker Glenn Murray would be too expensive for Palace, if rumours are to be believed he’s on the verge of agreeing a deal.

The 27 year old striker’s contract is up at the end of the month, and Brighton are resigned to losing him to any of the number of clubs tracking him, and Dougie Freedman has confirmed we are in the hunt but according to him nothing is set in stone yet.

‘We are interest, he’s on a Bosman and that’s the kind of market we are working in. He’s a good player and someone I feel would improve us as a team.’

Freedman also denied rumours that Murray has already had a medical with the club, but did admit that we had spoken to him and his representatives.

‘He knows we are interested, but I think we are somewhere down the pecking order.’

It’s all rumours at the moment, but the hang up would be wages and with Millwall and Southampton to name just two clubs also interested in his services, it would be a good result if Dougie could get his man.
