It’s being reported that Dougie Freedman is attempting to get the signature of former Man United trialist Even Hovland.

The centre half has had two trials at United over the past 3 years but terms were never offered.

According to Talksport, Sogndal of Norway are playing hardball over the fee as they don’t want the player to leave, but he is keen to test himself and push his career forward.

It’s reported that we have had two bids turned down so far but Sogndal will be prepared to deal with a bid at around £1m.

With Palace’s financial concerns, and dare I say, our sensible outlook on the finances that’s a huge fee for an untested player in this country and obviously Dougie isn’t prepared to meet it.

This might be one to watch, if Hovland wants out, it’ll only be a matter of time before his club cuts their losses as is the nature of the game thesedays.

But there’s no way, if the Talksport report is true, that we will go anywhere near that kind of fee for him.
