The last week has seen Crystal Palace begin firming up Roy Hodgson’s pre-season plans for the season of 2018/19.

Palace’s Pre-Season Schedule Begins To Take Shape

With a game against Championship side Reading already confirmed last week, along with some Palace XI fixtures, as we headed into the new week further details were announced by the club.

On Saturday, July 21st we head to the Kassam Stadium to face League One side Oxford United. The game will kick off at 3pm and it will be our first visit to them since 2001. Our last competitive fixture came back in 1998 on Boxing Day.

Hodgson will also return to Scandinavia this summer for friendlies and a mini training camp. Games have been set for Thursday, July 12th and Monday, July 16th. We face Danish side Helsingor first at their stadium, before then travelling to Swedish side Halmstads four days later at their Orjans Vall ground.

Hodgson started his career with Halmstads in the late 1970’s, lifting two league titles in 1976 and 1979. Both games have been given a 5.30BST kick off time.

Hodgson told Crystal Palace FC.

“I am delighted to return to two countries which have meant a lot to me during my managerial career – Halmstad where it all began in 1976 and Helsingør where I shall meet up with their manager Christian Lønstrup, who played at FC Copenhagen when we won our first Danish Championship. Most importantly, this week in Scandinavia will provide us with the ideal platform in our preparation for the new Premier League season, with excellent training facilities and good quality opponents who are in the middle of their respective seasons.”
