A somewhat disappointing draw in the circumstances hasn’t dented Ian Holloway’s relish for the remainder of the season to come.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the game marred by a few decisions, Holloway chose to keep his thoughts to himself.

‘I’ll have my own views, obviously. I’ve just looked at things but all I want to talk about really is the game and my team’s reaction after whatever he gives. In recent weeks we’ve had some things completely trot our way so I was waiting for things to go slightly against us to see my lads’ reaction. All I can say is I’m absolutely delighted. We don’t know enough tactically yet, we’re a bit naive at times as a group. They had more possession and put some pressure on our box but I felt really comfortable and thought that we were going to get another goal. Unfortunately we didn’t.’

Holloway also rightly refused to criticise Julian Speroni for his freak error pointing to everything else he did in the game instead.

‘If you look at the goal, it came through a crowd of players and he went to pick it up but it’s slipped underneath him on a greasy day. Without him where would we have been? Let’s look at the penalty. The save was important and the player is important. He’s a fantastic fella and he’s that good we’ve even got a bar named after him. Am I going to criticise him when he’s saved our bacon?’

So how does Holloway some up nigh on the first half of our season, and his period since taking charge.

‘Happy days, let’s bring on the rest of the season.’

Perfectly put!

Merry Christmas folks!
