Holloway – We Must Stick Together

Ian Holloway has called on the players to stick together after our hugely disappointing 3-0 loss to Ipswich last night.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the defeat, Holloway said the players cannot let our play off spot slip from our grasp at this late stage of the season.

‘We started fine, I thought we looked fantastic and moved the ball around well, that was the best we’ve been for quite a while until the goal. They were nervous and edgy and within a couple of minutes it had all turned around.’

Holloway says the goals in 12 minutes before the break totally disrupted our rhythm and confidence and really there was no way back for us after that unfortunately.

‘Talk about having the stuffing knocked out of us. I’ve said all along, we have to believe in ourselves when others don’ and this group is still finding out about myself and themselves. It’s going away from us and we’ve got to try and get it back. You have to be brave.’

Holloway says now is the time for Palace to dig in, and he believes the chance that Kevin Phillips missed is just indicative of the run we are in at the moment, but we have to keep showing the determination and effort in future games to get back on track.
