Dougie Freedman has talked about Peter Kurucz, Alexis Allart and Jose Baxter being on trial at the club.

Speaking to London24 as the club trial former West Ham stopper Kurucz, Freedman said of the Hungarian.

‘We’re having a little look at him. We feel in pre season it’s an ideal time. He showed he has good quality and saved that penalty (against Dulwich). We just need to assess whether we’re going to take a third goalkeeper or not.’

Kurucz was a regular in West Ham’s reserves prior to sustaining a serious injury, and recently his contract was terminated by mutual consent. As Dougie says, do we want somebody else on the wage list battling with Lewis, like we had Foderingham, or do we look for somebody else to step up from the reserves?

Commenting further to Crystal Palace FC about Alexis Allart and Jose Baxter, he said.

‘Alexis has been in training with us and (going through) fitness testing. We are quite strict on that, if we make a signing we’ve got get things right so that’s where we are with that one right now. Jose’s just looking to get fit, Alexis is somebody we would maybe like to sign but we need to see where he’s at.’

Following on from Dougie’s comment the other day about Baxter, despite the Lewes performance, it’s looking unlikely we are going to make a move for him, unless Freedman is just trying his best to keep our chances low key so nobody else jumps in ahead of time.
