BEN Watson has asked boss Peter Taylor not to sell any star players.

Its that time when pruning the squad becomes a reality, specially after Palace’s parachute payments ended this month.

Michael Hughes, Gabor Kiraly, Danny Granville and Tommy Black have been released and more could be on their way out.

Palace midfielder Watson desperately hopes Palace’s big guns stay so the Eagles can mount a push for promotion next season.

‘A few faces have gone already, but those players hadn’t featured much all season,’Watson said,

‘Now that everyone has gelled I think it’s very important to keep hold of our core players.

‘If we can keep hold of the nucleus of the side, it will let us have a good go next season and hopefully win promotion.

‘I think that, with the squad we’ve got, we should be in the play-offs at least.’

But those people didn’t get you up this time. Could be the time to rebuild.
