Leeds United chief executive Shaun Harvey, today claimed that the board is being ‘left in the dark’ by Dennis Wise, as Wise isn’t ready to release the details of the ‘Team Leaker’.

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Harvey had this to say;

‘While we know it happened, we do not know which Leeds United player it was.

‘There are people at the club who know but they have not told us as yet.’

Speaking at a fans forum, Harvey added: ‘If you betray trade secrets in any form of industry to give any of your competition an upper hand you would expect severe punishment to be taken.

‘In the cold light of day we have to take into account a number of things.

‘Was the leak of the team malicious or naive, was the information given to Crystal Palace directly or indirectly?

‘That’s the information we have to confirm and once we know the full ramifications of who, how and why the appropriate decisions will be made.’

Harvey however was full of praise for Crystal Palace boss Peter Taylor, after the Eagles gaffer came out to the press and said that he ‘had an idea’ who would be in the Leeds team. Altough Taylor has since told Wise he overreacted.

‘It is to Peter Taylor’s credit that when fronted with the question by Dennis Wise he actually confirmed the answer because it would have been very easy for him to say no,’ stated Harvey.

‘Dennis spoke to all the players on Monday and said, despite everything that has gone on, we won on Saturday, that’s the positive.

‘He told them to have a look at yourselves, if you can look at yourself in the mirror then fine but if you have anything to say to me come forward.

‘So we will deal with the matter as and when that happens but the most important thing at the moment is for everyone to be united behind the club and aiming for three points on Saturday.

‘We will deal with the matter internally as and when we have all the information to hand but we won’t make any knee-jerk reactions.

‘Once we know the full ramifications of who, how and why, those decisions will be made, and those decisions will be made in the best interests of Leeds United Football Club.’
