Dougie Freedman is already making plans for next seasons campaign and has taken Manchester City’s 18 year old Joan Roman on trial for 10 days.

Speaking to the Croydon Guardian Freedman explained that it was a chance to get to know the player, and for the player to get to know the us with an eye to maybe a loan deal next season.

‘Joan Roman is coming down for 10 days just to see. It’s good for him to experience football outside of Manchester City and at the same time we can have a look at him as a possible loan for next season.’

Freedman says no deal will be done this campaign though.

‘It won’t happen for this season, we are pretty much done for loans unless we get an injury.’
