Bakary Sako has admitted mixed feelings following Crystal Palace’s loss to Brighton last night in the FA Cup.

With manager Roy Hodgson making changes for the game at the Amex Stadium, Sako came back in to start the game and he did of course get us back on level terms in the second half and initially seemed to have got us a replay from the tie until Glenn Murray struck late on.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC in his own post game press interviews, Sako was obviously pleased to start and find the net, but losing the game so late was clearly disappointing and frustrating.

‘It was so frustrating to concede so late in the game with us doing so well to come back into the match with the lads working so hard so as you can imagine the dressing room is filled with a disappointed group of lads tonight. I scored a similar goal to the one I got tonight a few years ago, I am comfortable playing on my right foot so as soon as I saw the opportunity I took my chance and lucky for me it went into the net.’

He went on to say.

‘I have been waiting for the opportunity to play and I got that tonight because of injuries within the squad and it gave me and others the chance to play and personally speaking it was good to get ninety minutes of game time under my belt.’

The 29 year old knew the players just had to dust themselves down and get ready for the Premier League again.

‘Every time the gaffer plays me I am trying to do my best and that is exactly what I was looking to do tonight but from a team point of view it`s frustrating because we did well second half and to end the night out of the FA Cup is hard to take. We are soon back to the league action so we need to recover well and get back on the training pitch and be ready for the weekend.’
