Meeting with the media today to discuss Sunday’s visit of Tottenham Hotspur to Selhurst Park, Roy Hodgson confirmed that Crystal Palace have a number of injury issues to contend with ahead of the game.

Having given good news on Wilfried Zaha being ‘well’ ahead of schedule, albeit not ready for a return just yet, the manager also confirmed that he continues to be without 12 senior players when it came to his selection options.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC earlier, he explained that hopefully we would have better news in the next few weeks.

‘Schlupp and Kelly should return in a week or two and Ward and possibly Sakho but the others are long term and we will have to wait until after the international break before we can get them back on the field of play.’

Speaking about Sakho more specifically, the former England man went on to say that it was disappointing that he wasn’t yet back in action, but there had been complications in his recovery.

‘We thought he was going to be back, but he is still feeling his calf injury – at the moment he is making it clear he doesn’t feel confident enough to play.’

Adding.

‘I`m disappointed in that as I thought we would have got him back after the Newcastle second half when he played so well but it hasn’t turned out that way so we will just have to wait and see but its really when he lets us know he’s ready. We`ll have to wait and see, and we are waiting for him to let us know when he`s ready.’
