No change at the Palace

Neil Warnock say’s he will never change his managerial style after becoming Crystal Palace Manager on Thursday.

Other managers, referee’s, linesman had better watch out, Warnock is back and raring to go, and cant wait to get back on the touchline.

He told the Mirror: A leopard cannot change his spots and I don’t see at this stage why I should.

‘Obviously I can see one or two games where I am not going to get many decisions going for me, especially if referee Rob Styles gets hold of one or two of my main games!

‘But you get used to things like that. I happen to think that, although certain people dislike me, the way that I am is good for football.

‘A lot of people sit on the fence. A lot of pundits don’t want to say it as it is and sometimes it’s great to say it as it is, but I do think you have to be careful not to overstep the mark.

‘When you are good at your job there is always a little bit of jealousy and throughout my career I would like to think that if you ask managers in the same division as me, I would be high on the list of managers you don’t want to play against.

‘So I have never had to worry about who my friends are. I have one or two and that’s a lot in football.

‘The only thing I worry about is pleasing my supporters and if they get behind me then they will love the ride.’

Jordan insists there isn’t a revolving door on the entrance to his office, Jordan told the Mirror: ‘A lot of the managerial decisions have not been mine to take – I did not ask Steve Coppell not to get on with me. I didn’t ask Steve Bruce to leave to go to Birmingham.

‘Steve Kember was given a chance because he deserved it but it didn’t work out. Alan Smith was a mistake because I felt bringing someone back that had past heritage might have got us going.

‘But I didn’t ask Iain Dowie to do what he did (leave and join Charlton).

‘I am the easiest person to work for if you are good at your job. I’m a nightmare if you are not.

‘It’s not that I’m impatient. Peter was here for 56 games and there were 17,000 fans and the Press who thought, ‘This team is not very good’.’
