A lead against Stoke was lost by Palace on Saturday afternoon, within minutes, so we had to be content with a point at Selhurst Park.

The celebrations had barely finished, after the early lead given to us by McArthur, when Stoke swiftly drew level and one-one is how it remained….

We couldn’t really have hoped for a better start as Bolasie’s ability brought about a chance that McArthur (11) happily took as he headed past Begovic to make it one-nil, thank you very much!

The fans were in good voice, as ever, when Bojan’s own trickery allowed him to cross into Walters and when his effort was deflected into his path Crouch (13) was left with a simple tap-in past Julian Speroni to make it one-one.

Full credit though this goal didn’t drown out the Palace backing.

We would argue that we had the better of the game but he chances, for either side, were limited and in the end Warnock said that he wasn’t too unhappy with the point but at home this has to be viewed, especially as we took the lead, as two points dropped and the need for another striker was again apparent, as was the need for our attacking midfielders to offer support.

It’s just one win in ten for us now but we’re still just above the drop zone as things stand….
