Palace look tired in the second half of this game, and were lucky Sheffield Utd couldn’t hit the target, plus the help of Speroni, even though with some of his saves you would think he was dating Lady Luck.

Palace started well and commanded the first 15 mins, Utd woke up and took the next 15, then on 37 mins Jamie Scowcroft hit goal after Stead had given away a needless free-kick when handling the ball.

Ben Watson sent the free-kick into the Blades’ box, which Clint Hill headed down and then Scowcroft slammed home.

In the second-half, a refreshed Sheffield United had numerous chances to level but could not find a way past Speroni.

Hulse almost equalised in the 57th minute but Speroni did well to block his shot with his legs.

Bardsley then hit a swerving free-kick in the 67th minute, but Speroni again saved.

The result means Palace are unbeaten in 12 games and are up to seventh in the Championship…..
