Sky sports are not the only ones today that can ‘understand’ things on deadline day; the ‘understanding’ from Press Association Sport are that a fee has been agreed for James McArthur.

A £7m fee was agreed between Wigan Athletic and Leicester City last week, but they pulled out of the deal so we have stepped in and as long as he comes through his medical and agrees terms the Scottish international will come in for £7m.

Zeki Fryers is already at the club undergoing a medical ahead of his move from Spurs.

Other names continuing to be mention today are defenders Sebastian Bassong, from Norwich City, and Newcastle United’s Steven Taylor along with another from Norwich, striker Gary Hooper.

Also being linked is former England striker Jermain Defoe?

We know that Neil Warnock has said that he wants to bring in four players today; Fryers and McArthur look like being two of them….
