Crystal Palace have added Joe Shields to the Academy Staff to ensure further development and scouting of the best young players in London.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC Academy Manager Gary Issott said explained the changes that were taking place.

With Joe Shields joining from Fulham he will become the Assistant Head of Schoolboy Recruitment/Talent Identification and Recruitment co-ordinator.

This will in turn see Bernie Dillon become the Head of Recruitment on a full time basis.

‘I’d like to welcome Bernie to the club full time,he is someone who has a prolific track record in youth development. He will be assisted by Joe Shields who has a terrific record in spotting young talent. I’m delighted that we are continuing to make forward strides in these areas and would like to thank the board for their commitment in helping us find the best young players in London.’
