Palace Line Up Kisnorbo Move?

It’s being suggested that Dougie is interested in signing former Leeds defender Patrick Kisnorbo on a free.

Sky Sports in their ever familiar at this time of year ‘understands’ pretext are reporting that Freedman is making a move for the out of contract defender after his Leeds contract expired.

The Australian has been out of action for some time after sustaining an Achilles injury back in March 2010 – I have to trust Sky here, I have no idea! – but it does seem the kind of move we’d be interested in.

An experienced player and a solid one, available within budget and to boot maybe has a point to prove.

If we are going the youthful route, not only for reasons of finances but also to establish players who can give us numerous years of service with a sell on fee should the need arise, we also need to invest in experience to aide their development.

Kisnorbo may not be the flashiest of signings or a name that rolls off many fans’ tongues when discussing prospective signings, but I do think it would be a very sensible move for us, should Sky and their water understanding be accurate here.

Hi Eddy, I honestly can’t see him leaving Leeds. He’s joining in with pre season and trying to prove he’s fit enough for a new deal. If you do get him and he can stay fully fit he is a quality player. Injuries have plighted his career with Leicester and Leeds. Without injuries he would have been a top quality premier league defender.

Yeah would be a strange one, after being on the sidelines for so long you’d have thought he’d stay for another season at least so the Leeds chapter wasn’t unfinished business from his point of view…if injuries had been a new challenge for him at Leeds then you’d think maybe he’d move on to start fresh, but he’s been battling them long enough that he wouldn’t see Leeds as unlucky for him. I’d be delighted if we got him though, but the battle would be keeping him off the sick bed.

If Kis comes through pre-season fit! Theres no way he’d jump ship and leave Leeds…And if SG thinks he’s fit enough after a long 14 months out I’d say he’ll get a contract…
