Palace Up To Sixth

Crystal Palace’s Premier League season continued with a draw against Everton at Goodison Park on Monday.

Palace had to be content with a point, which is probably the least Everton will feel they deserved as Scott Dann’s (a summer target for the hosts, apparently) late header was cancelled out by Romelu Lukaku’s later still goal in this one-one draw.

This point, which wouldn’t have been any if Lukaku wasn’t twice denied by the woodwork, was enough to see Palace up to sixth on goal-difference.

The other results at the weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 5th December
Stoke 2-0 Man City
Arsenal 3-1 Sunderland
Man Utd 0-0 West Ham
Southampton 1-1 Aston Villa
Swansea 0-3 Leicester
Watford 2-0 Norwich
West Brom 1-1 Tottenham
Chelsea 0-1 Bournemouth

Sunday 6th December 2015
Newcastle 2-0 Liverpool

Monday 7th December 2015
Everton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Stoke, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Man City losing at Stoke, with the Potters running out two-nil winners was topped, even though they’ve been ‘struggling’ this season as it, by Bournemouth becoming the latest side to win at Stamford Bridge when the Cherries scored late on to beat Chelsea one-nil!

It wasn’t one that could top the Bournemouth one, however a much needed Newcastle win as the Toon saw off Liverpool two-nil at St James’ Park eased some pressure on Steve McClaren who, apparently, had (before this) only two-matches save his job….
