Steve Parish has said he is resigned to losing Nathaniel Clyne unless Palace manage to get themselves promoted this season.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard, he confirmed a number of clubs were tracking the player, believed to be Man U, Villa, Newcastle and Fulham (exactly the same clubs in the main linked with Zaha), but Clyne won’t extend his deal and as we know will be out of contract come the summer.

‘Nathaniel won’t sign a new contract. I have offered him a very lucrative one and I can’t force him to accept it. His agent has got Nathaniel running his contract down – make your own mind up.’

Parish adds that it all comes down to money and compensation in effect now depending on when an offer comes in.

‘That is something we’ll have to look at as and when someone makes us an offer, we will expect to get a good deal on compensation. He is one of the best young players in the country and we’d expect to get something that would reflect that.’
