Dougie Freedman believes a play off battle is now out of our reach following the draw against Hull.

Speaking to NewsShopper after the game Freedman reiterated that he always thought it would be too much of an ask for us to be involved in a play off battle this season, even though we have pushed it close.

‘I’ve always said that it would be a huge ask to come from fighting relegation for two years to then get into the play offs. I just think it’s too much to ask from the club and the team. I think you can see the progress we’ve made and that is the way I’d like to go. If that means we have to wait one or two years until it is the right time, then I can accept that.’

There are games and points left for us to sneak it if we start picking up three points from here on in, but nobody can really be disappointed with the progress we have made both in terms of performances, but also in how safe we are this season from being dragged down.

A good steady mid table finish this season, with a view to pushing on further next campaign will more than do me.

That said I won’t be complaining if we sneak it!
