The ‘Alan Pardew Palace v Newcastle grudge match’, as it was billed by some, saw the points shared in the Premier League draw on Wednesday night as we came from a goal down to ensure we took another point to keep his impressive start to life with us going.

We ended the first half a goal-down but come fulltime might have felt that a win wouldn’t have been unjust but as it was the game at Selhurst ended in a one-one draw….

A draw, which it probably shouldn’t have been wasn’t expected, a win that it should was with these were the pre-game poll thoughts:-

Palace win 62%
Newcastle win 23%
Draw 15%

In a first half, which saw us dealt a blow by the loss of Arsenal loanee Sanogo to injury at the midway point his replacement Campbell made an impact and thought he had us ahead when he headed home – he was denied by an offside flag.

The only effort on target that Newcastle had was made count as Cisse (42) headed home a Janmaat cross to send John Carver’s side into the break one-nil up.

An equaliser, the least that we deserved, came in the second half when Campbell (71) did get on the scoresheet to give his chances of FA Cup involvement against Liverpool no harm at all, but more importantly this goal earned us a one-one draw.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
