It’s being reported that manager Tony Pulis has successfully convinced Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker to snub interest from Queens Park Rangers, and instead take the necessary steps to sign a deal with us.

The 22 year old’s future has long been believed to be away from Cardiff following their return to the Championship through relegation last season, and Caulker was certainly a stand out player for them in the Premier League, but it looked like he was set on a move to QPR to join up with Harry Redknapp.

It’s said that we have agreed an £8million fee for the player and he will become our new record signing and to ensure the move goes through smoothly, we have just matched his fixed price release fee instead of trying to negotiate.

It’s also said that we will pay him a reported £42,000 a week which is, well, steep.
