Peter Ramage has said he’s champing at the bit to get going again with Premiership football on the horizon.

With the release of the fixture list and some big games early on in the campaign, Ramage said he couldn’t wait to get going again now we knew who we would face and when.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC the defender explained.

‘I was up like a little kid at 6.30, I couldn’t stop thinking about the fixtures. It’s three really good fixtures for us to start with. They are proper Premier League fixtures, so it kind of hit home then that we are Premier League.

Ramage obviously looked for his return to Newcastle when they were released.

‘That was the first game I looked for, I must admit. To be honest it’s going to be hard for us no matter who we play, they are all going to be tough fixtures – we’re not going into it blind – we just have to take every game as it comes.’

Ramage adds that Palace’s plan will be to make Selhurst a fortress and then nick what we can away from home, but ultimately with it being our first season back in the top flight, staying up is what counts and 17th place will be the target, and then higher is simply a bonus.

Good to be keen – but I forecast an input of 7 (Or More) players before the 25 are named!
But “Clever Signings” rather than “Money Men”!
