Sam Allardyce has confirmed on-loan Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho WILL miss Crystal Palace’s remaining games against Hull and Manchester United.

Sakho, who hadn’t been officially ruled out, despite an apparent season-ending injury against Tottenham, has now by Allardyce ahead of Sunday’s visit of Hull to Selhurst Park, a game that could confirm our Premier League safety, should Palace avoid defeat, or leave us very much in the mire with a potentially daunting trip to Old Trafford to come.

Having ruled Sakho, 27, out of the weekend game Allardyce, quoted by Sky Sports, was questioned about the chances of a return against Man United.

Allardyce said: ‘Not really. I don’t think so. It won’t be long enough to think he’ll be fit for Old Trafford.’

Will we see Sakho, nominated for the Player of the Year award, in spite of making just eight appearances for the club, in a Palace shirt again? That will be resolved in due course, but one defender we could sign in the summer is Sunderland’s Lamine Kone.

According to FootMercato, via the Croydon Guardian, Allardyce, who took the Ivorian to Sunderland, is hopeful of securing his signature once again.

£10m could be enough to beat West Ham to Kone, 28.
