SE25 Is Where Crystal Palace Newbie Wanted To Be

|

Crystal Palace’s first signing of the summer, Vicente Guaita, has said that although plenty of clubs were in for his signature this summer, once he’d done some homework on the club he had no doubts about signing a three-year deal at Selhurst Park.

With the players returning to the training ground now as pre-season steps up with August nearing, it was Guaita’s first opportunity to meet his new colleagues properly following his arrival and the 31-year-old carries good experience from his spells with Getafe and Valencia.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC the goalkeeper explained that with the options available to him, he felt London was a ‘great city’ and somewhere that his family would enjoy and having asked friends in the game what the Premier League was like, it felt like a new journey that he could really enjoy.

“They encouraged me to join Crystal Palace, as it was a great team that I would really enjoy. I’m bringing the four years in Getafe with me as well as the other five in Valencia, and I want to keep going in that direction because in the end with hard work things end up going well. I’ll keep working to hopefully achieve beautiful things with Crystal Palace.”

Palace fans certainly gave him a warm welcome when his arrival was officially announced.
