Pardew’s run of five away wins was ended at former club Southampton on Tuesday when a late goal made the difference at St Mary’s with the home side collecting all three-points after a one-nil win.

Southampton went into this game having not scored in pushing on for six-hours – for large periods of this game you could see why and that was showing with confidence lacking. Speroni didn’t have much to do until just before the break when he saved to deny Elia with Pelle failing with the rebound.

Given our lack of attacking options, and with us being away, it wasn’t too surprising that we were happy to keep it tight and accept some pressure before Puncheon former England ‘keeper Forster into a save as did Bolasie.

Zaha went closer than anyone when he was denied by the post before Ward-Prowse set up Mane (83) who won it for the home side late on as a wait of almost six and a half hours for a goal from the home side at home ended, as did Pardew’s unbeaten away records as Palace manager….

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us.
