In the last match Palace avoided a potential upset in the second round when League 2 side Blackpool were seen off at Selhurst Park.

Alan Pardew, fresh from wins over Middlesbrough and Stoke, will face a former side Southampton on Wednesday as the Saints enter into the competition having been afforded a second round bye due to European commitments.

Pardew isn’t going to be any more (or less) motivated by facing Southampton (they probably not facing him either) but as much as the team will be changed around somewhat the momentum Palace are building up after successive wins is something we could do with continuing in a competition that is winnable for the Eagles ‘if’ we want it enough!

What will happen in this one though?

Cast your vote so we know if you think it’ll be all smiles or disappointment for Palace come the full time whistle.
