Having been selected by Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson for last night’s clash against Watford at Selhurst Park, goalkeeper Julian Speroni clocked up his 400th club showing.

The 38 year old Argentinian stopper has already cemented his place in our history books having proved himself a reliable man between the sticks during both darker days and better days in recent seasons following promotion back to the Premier League and – so far at least – top flight consolidation and survival.

With leaner spells in recent seasons, he’s re established himself as a regular taking in nine games so far in 2017/18 and been the go to keeper for Hodgson since his arrival.

Having signed from Dundee back in 2004 for a snip £500,000 fee, he now has 399 starting appearances to his name across all competitions and a single substitute appearance in League competition takes him to the milestone 400 games in our colours.

Speroni obviously played his part in helping lift the side out of the relegation places with a late two one victory on the night.
