No approach from Newcastle, but there are negotiations.

Steve Parish has admitted that Palace are negotiating fees to avoid a tribunal for the transfer of Nathaniel Clyne, but he has dismissed reports that Newcastle have made a firm offer.

Speaking to BBC London 94.9, our co chairman said.

‘We offered Nathaniel a very big contract to stay, there are one or two clubs interested in him already. We’re negotiating fees and trying to stop it going to a tribunal.’

However in comments made to the South London Press following reports that Newcastle had made a firm offer, he also said.

‘I read them and they are not true. It’s completely made up – I hate using those words but they just got bad information. I had a chat to people a while ago and they do quite like him, but that doesn’t mean they are going to buy him.’
