Crystal Palace’s Premier League season continued with a draw at Selhurst Park against Man United on Saturday.

The winless run against Man United in the Premier League was extended with Palace last beating United (in the league) in an old Division One meeting in 1991 but it was fair to say Palace will be more frustrated by the nil-nil draw as the Eagles had the better of the chances without a doubt.

A reaction to the five-one defeat to Man United’s rivals Man City in the League Cup was required and was seen from Palace, as a three-match losing run was also ended, with United having the woodwork, ‘keeper De Gea and some poor finishing to thank for the fact their own goalscoring drought wasn’t extended with them going away with nothing!

Hennessey did save a first half freekick from Rooney, however that was about the best the visitors offered as a near watertight defence rarely failed to carve out anything offensively as Palace looked the more threatening on that score with wingers Bolasie and, against the side he spend a frustrating spell with of course, Zaha causing problems.

Bolasie struck the crossbar as with Delaney having a headed chance he couldn’t take with Gayle, looking to prove he’s the goalscoring answer for Pardew, denied by United ‘keeper De Gea.

The best chance of all went Cabaye’s way though.

He’ll know as well as anyone that he really should have scored as that chance to win at the 13th attempt was missed by Palace against a United side that don’t create too much with Martial causing the most of the limited problems, with this seeing Pardew make a tactical change in the second half switching Kelly from right to left back over fears he could get a second yellow card.

Palace, who might have seen the struggles in front of goal of late continue do remain in the top 10, which if this can be maintained throughout the season will definitely represent another successful one but dropped below Liverpool to 8th following their own win over Chelsea.
