It’s being reported that midfielder Barry Bannan has been suspended by Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon along with fellow player and former Eagle Neil Danns.

It’s being said that the ‘suspension’ is ‘indefinite’ following a so called ‘fracas’ at a hotel the other day.

Both players were dropped from their game against Brentford yesterday and the even is said to have taken place at the team hotel following their one all draw with Charlton Athletic.

There are few to any real details but it’s said hotel guests made complaints and Lennon is quoted as saying of the pair.

‘I have to put a marker down and I won`t tolerate it, they have got a bit of making up to do. They are suspended indefinitely, until further notice, and they`ll both be fined the maximum wage we can do. We will welcome them back when and if we decide it`s the right time to do it.’

Again, whilst not giving any real details about what is supposed to have occurred at the hotel, Lennon went on to say.

‘We`re all big boys and I don`t mind them going out and socialising but they`ve crossed the line with me. I have to set standards at the club and expect them to be followed.’

With Bannan being on loan at the club, having made the move to them at the beginning of February on an emergency loan basis, he has gone on to make 14 appearances all in for them and has in many games been tagged as their best player recently – so the Scottish international has been making friends and impressing but this does of course bring a doubt now to the speculation that Bolton were hoping to turn his loan deal into a permanent one over the summer.

Not only may it scupper those chances if speculation was true but it could potentially see him returned to Palace?

Lennon was non committal on that front.

‘I don`t know what it will mean for him. I like him as a player. He was very apologetic, as was Dannsy. We won`t make a big song and dance about it. We`ve tried to keep it internal but we`ll see what happens next week.’
