It was being reported last night that Burnley’s Ashley Barnes could be a target for Crystal Palace in the final days of the January transfer window.

Sky Sports were reporting yesterday that Roy Hodgson was tempted into making a move for Barnes with first choice target Khouma Babacar still proving problematic when it came to reaching an agreement with Fiorentina.

With it believed Palace have a kitty of between £10 to £12million to bolster their attacking ranks this month, options are limited and if progress can’t be made on Babacar, Sky believe they will move strongly for Barnes as a back up option.

Burnley are certainly not in a position where they need to sell however and Barnes has 18 months left on his current contract, so this might be one to watch late on when the transfer deadline moves to a close.
