Two goal Scott Dann has said that everybody was delighted with the win against Dover and pleased that we are in the fourth round hat.

A potential banana skin tie against non league opposition may not have been the way new manager Alan Pardew wanted to start life at the club, but four goals later, and Dann was certainly a happy man when he spoke to Crystal Palace FC following the full time whistle.

‘We’re delighted with the performance, coming here we knew it was going to be tough as you know what the FA Cup is like for springing up surprises but the way we went about it, especially the attitude and the way we played, I think we thoroughly deserved it.’

With Dann opening the scoring and giving us a two goal lead at the half time break, he was pleased to have got on the scoresheet and helped the team out.

‘It’s really nice to get a couple of goals and help the team out, and I should chip in with a few more goals from set plays, and to be honest I could have had a few more. When you go 2-0 up the next goal is the big one as if they get it they’re back in the game, but we stuck at it and kept to our job and Gayley got the third and it was game over them.’

He ended his interview by saying that with a new manager, and a good victory under our belt, hopefully this will now be the catalyst for better performances and results in the league, but it’s obviously down to the players now to take that kind of showing into the coming Premiership games and make it count.
