Jamaican defender Claude Davis says his immediate priority at Crystal Palace is to show his worth at the Championship club.

Davis moved from Derby to the South London club on a one-month loan, a move that came on the verge of deadline day in the January transfer window on Monday.

‘My main objective is to get back playing again, but that is going to be hard as there are a lot of talented players here,’ the central defender said.

‘Before I start thinking of being in the starting 11, I have got to show my best in training and demonstrate why I should be picked.

‘I want to help the club get back into the promotion
race and hopefully we will get promoted to the Premier League.’

‘I found out about the deal on Friday evening and I was excited about the possibility of linking up with Neil as we worked together at Sheffield United a couple years ago,’ Davis explained.

‘As soon as he phoned me and said he was interested, I said yes straightaway. I need to get back and this was a great chance for me, as Neil is one of those managers that can get the best out of his players and he is a very good manager.’
