Earlier this evening Crystal Palace confirmed that Freddie Ladapo had made the switch to League One side Southend United.

The 24 year old striker joined Palace following a prolific spell with non league Margate in 2016, and he enjoyed two successful spells out on loan with Oldham Athletic and Shrewsbury Town during his time with us.

He made his Football League debut during his time at Colchester United at the beginning of his playing career and he made his Palace bow earlier this season in our game against Manchester United.

He was also a regular during pre season and for our Under 23s where he scored six times in eleven appearances for Richard Shaw’s side this season.

Ladapo becomes former Charlton Athletic boss Chris Powell first signing after he arrived at the club earlier this month.

He has signed a six month deal at Roots Hall but there is a further one year option on that deal.
