18-year-old Nathanial Clyne has signed a 3 year deal after impressing Neil Warnock this season.

Clyne’s new deal should ward off interest from top flight clubs including Wigan Athletic who have been keeping tabs on his progress.

Eagles manager Neil Warnock told the Croydon Advertiser: ‘Clyne deserves his new contract. He is by no means one of the club’s top earners but it puts him up to where it should be after his performances this season.’

Clyne’s emergence as a first team regular means Danny Butterfield is almost certain to exit Selhurst Park in the summer.
