Jason Lokilo is a name we’ll be hoping to hear plenty more about in the future at Crystal Palace with it confirmed on cpfc.co.uk the teenager has signed for the club.

Lokilo has been training with the U18 and U21 squads since the summer with it announced the former Anderlecht winger has now signed for Palace having gained the clearance needed.

Following his arrival the 17-year-old said.

‘I’m very happy to have signed with Crystal Palace. It’s a good club making progress. They bought Cabaye, who is a very good player. Bolasie, Zaha, Puncheon, it’s a very good (place) for wingers!

‘I’ve trained very well and I’m looking to continue that.’

He added he could play ‘anywhere’ but is primarily a left footed right winger who likes ‘to pass the ball and get assists’ as well as ‘cut inside to create chances to score.’

For the time being the Belgian youngster will be in the U18 and U21 sides, playing for one or the other, maybe both, until such a time he might be able to emulate those he’s aspiring to in the Palace first-team under Alan Pardew!

Speaking of Pardew and the first-team, following the new contact signed by Yannick Bolasie, the Palace boss has spoken about his hopes others will follow his example and extend their stays at Selhurst Park.

The next to do this, having seemed destined to leave Palace after an offer from Bristol City had been accepted in the summer transfer window, could be Dwight Gayle?

Among others, the Guardian, has reported Palace have ‘begun negotiations’ with the 25-year-old for him to sign an improved deal, which is set to run until the summer of 2017 at the moment.
