Palace Set To Join The Hunt For Liverpool’s Forgotten Man

|

Crystal Palace have been tentatively linked with Liverpool striker Danny Ings previously, although there wasn’t a lot of substance in those reports from memory.

Whether the latest reports are simply a rehash and a recycle remains to be seen, but with an update now speculating that Ings has decided to leave Anfield this summer in search of more regular football, it’s almost inevitable it will fill the proverbial airwaves for a while.

The 25-year-old moved to Liverpool from Burnley back in the summer of 2015 but he saw his opportunities limited after he suffered two long-term injuries. He does still have two years remaining on his contract at the club and it was believed that Jurgen Klopp was reticent to let him go, but that seems to have now changed.

A return to Burnley has obviously been suggested in the reports and Palace lend themselves to the speculation owing to Christian Benteke’s form last season and the fact we had Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend filling in as strikers despite that not being their natural position.

Ings certainly impressed before injury and Roy Hodgson did give him his England bow back in October 2015 so maybe he’s the man to get his club career back on track?
