Neil Warnock is hoping he can persuade striker Craig Beattie to rejoin Palace after a highly successful loan stint at Selhurst Park last season.

The 25-year-old scored five goals in 15 games for Neil Warnock’s side before being recalled by West Brom in December.

Warnock hopes he can persuade the Scot to return.

Warnock said: ‘He doesn’t seem to play for anyone else but us.

‘I think I get the best out of him.’

Warnock is also eyeing other targets now the transfer embargo has been lifted on Palace.

‘I have one or two other irons in the fire,’ he said. ‘I would like to get someone on board.’

Last night Warnock said he was so close to getting him, but we have since heard Beattie is having a medical at Swansea.

Swansea have not revealed the transfer fee for Beattie but say it is “guaranteed” to break the club’s previous transfer record – which stands at £400,000 – and will “rise significantly higher” depending on appearances and success.

ITS so horrible not having any money! !
