Crystal Palace’s Academy side finished their 2009/2010 season with a 4-1 over Arsenal’s academy.

The Eagles defeated the League champions thanks to a hat-trick from Ibra Sekajja and one from

Sekajja got his first after just three minutes when he pounced on a spill by Gunners keeper Sean McDormott.

Zaha then nearly made it two as he intercepted a pass across the back line but his shot was blocked.

Palace continued to dominate the first half, until the 43rd minute when a misplaced pass from Sekajja was intercepted by Jeffrey Monacan who ran 30 yards with the ball before curling it into the top right hand corner.

Gary Issott’s half-time team talk worked wonders though and Palace were back in the lead again.

Central midfielder Alex Wynter hit a ball over the visitors back line and Sekajja’s first touch allowed him to shrug off the defence and slot the ball home from 18 yards.

Impressive trialist Liam Bellamy made it 3-1 with a cracking strike from 40 yards.

With less than nine minutes to play Sekajja hit the game’s fourth and his third goal. Williams played the striker in and he hit a superb left footed strike into the top right corner, leaving McDermott stranded.

The final whistle meant that Palace had finished the season 47 points, just nine points behind leaders Arsenal and six ahead of Chelsea, who could still claim the runners up spot in their remaining three games.
