Manager Alan Pardew has heaped praise on wideboys Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha for making all the difference in the game yesterday against Queens Park Rangers.

A three one win courtesy of goals from Wilf, McArthur and Ward has the three points sown up inside of the first 45 minutes, and a late consolation from them never really put the result in doubt.

Speaking to Crystal Palace FC following the victory, a very happy Pardew explained.

‘Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha were terrific in this game and were the difference between the two sides. I hope Steve Coppell was watching this game because he would have been proud today because here we have been famous for our wingers over the years and this performance was like a throwback to watching Palace teams of the past.’

Heaping the praise further on them, Pardew went on to say that the qualities they have are natural and they cannot be coached, so it’s the other side of the game you work on with them and then trust them to make the right decisions during games and they are doing that for him, and against Queens Park Rangers especially it all came together for them.

‘The skills that they produce cannot be coached and comes from their own talent but what I can do is get them in the right place at the right time. Making sure they know where they should be, what they should do for the team and that is what I am trying to educate them on and of course from their personal points of view they need to get more goals.’

The additional three points from the game move us onto 33 for the season and leave us eight points clear of Burnley in 18th place, so safety is all but secured now as it would take a run of woeful form to see us slip down into the mix with the sides below us, but the target for Pardew is the places above us as we are only seven points off Swansea in 9th place.

‘We are nearly safe and where we sit now it would be a long haul for other teams to claw us back but we just need to keep our heads, get ourselves another victory and we will nearly be done. I have always said to the players here that there are two things in this Premier League, you either look down and start to get anxiety or look up and try and get to the team above and that is we will do. We now have a chance to stamp on the division what we are about and if we can do that between now and the end of the season I will be happy.’
